Applecross Cup,

South of Perth Yacht Club,

12-13th March, 2016.

* 10 boats from 2 Yacht Clubs

The SoPYC teams were joined by a further four boats from East Fremantle Yacht Club for the Applecross Cup on the weekend of the 12-13th of March.

The Pelicans convened at the Club on the Saturday morning and were greeted by muggy conditions with a very light easterly breeze making racing increasing tricky. However by midday the sea breeze had asserted itself and continued to build through the afternoon, making ideal conditions for some amazing kite runs around the course.

Racing resumed on Sunday morning in a brisk east to south easterly, which, combined with flat water, made for some quick runs around the course. However, the conditions were not to last with the wind slowly dropping out and ultimately resulting in the entire Pelican fleet ‘timing out’ in final race of the regatta in the afternoon.

Final Championship results for the Applecross Cup 2016:
